Chief Warren A. Merritt

Warren A. Merritt was appointed Fire Chief by the Board of Commissioners on March 14, 2012. Chief Merritt comes to KCFR from the City of Bellevue (WA) where he served 32 years, most recently as a Deputy Fire Chief. Chief Merritt served as a volunteer firefighter with King County Fire District # 10 (WA; now Eastside Fire & Rescue) from 1974 to 1994 concurrent with his employment with the City of Bellevue. Chief Merritt has an Associates Degree in Fire Science, a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety Administration, a Chief Officer Designation (CFOD), and is a graduate from the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program (EFOP).
